It tilts forward to reduce glare and prevent dusting, and backward to form a table for gessoing, watercolors, and varnishing. Its retractable mast extends upward to handle a 44" canvas, and folds down to a compact 52" height. The painting tray can be adjusted from vertical to horizontal in just seconds. A shelf beneath the frame provides storage for books or supplies. Top and bottom painting trays have rubber grips to hold a canvas securely. It's made of hand-rubbed, oil-finished, solid red oak. The shelf, which becomes a drawing board on the Lobo con Cadena, is an oak veneer plywood. On the Deluxe Lobo, this shelf is hinged. Lobo con Cadena — On the Lobo con Cadena, the supply shelf is removable for use as an integrated drawing board measuring 19" × 27". All measurements are the same as for the Deluxe Lobo Easel. The drawing board is rigid, not hinged, and a chain runs between the easel's front and rear supports. Shipping weight is 28 lbs. Academy Collegiate Lobo — This slightly smaller knockdown (assembly required) version of the Lobo Easel is made of a less expensive hardwood, with a less costly finish.
